It's been awhile since members of FCG did a theme month, but no better time than the present, right?
The Regiment of Renown concept comes from an old Warhammer Fantasy concept. From Wikipedia:
"The name "Regiments of Renown" was used prior to the introduction of the Dogs of War concept for certain units led by a particular hero and they were given rules in White Dwarf and sold as boxed sets."
So technically we have famous units led by a hero. But we're stretching the theme just to cover units of models in general, because we're making the rules and we can. Look for posts and photos from several FCG members including:
- cerberus - 40k Orks
- muggins - Bolt Action Fallschirmjager squad
- tau4eva - WMH Cylena & Nyss Hunters
- geneguard - WMH Trollblood Sons of Bragg
- horuspex -....something!
Thanks for posting this up! I am going all out on my first fallschirmjager squad. Will have a post up here soon.
ReplyDeleteFor those who haven't seen it, here is a PDF of what they used to do at Warhams World. http://warhammerworld.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/Event-Pack-Regiment-of-Renown.pdf
The idea is basically take a squad, regiment, unit, group, whatevs that isn't just your basic grunt and take extra special time to make them look really sweet. Put in some extra effort in your planning, etc.
