I've been prepping for this weekend's 75 point Steamroller at Gamers Sanctuary for a while now. I wanted to use Rasheth but I also got really excited about using Xerxis after seeing his model and abilities.
Xerxis is a bricklayer. He pulls up with a dozen dudes in the back in heavy armor and says "come at me bro". He has Defender's Ward which makes units harder to kill; he has a feat that makes them throw an additional die on damage rolls AND armor buff for everything base to base! Both offensive and defensive (like Rasheth's).
I went with a snow theme with Skorne to show that they've marched off to fight my Khador and Legion armies. |
So many little flags |
Here is the Xerxis list:
Tyrant Xerxis (*5pts)* Basilisk Krea (4pts)* Bronzeback Titan (10pts)* Tiberion (11pts)* Titan Gladiator (8pts)* Titan Sentry (9pts)Cataphract Arcuarii (Leader and 5 Grunts) (9pts)Cataphract Cetrati (Leader and 5 Grunts) (11pts)Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts) (9pts)Paingiver Beast Handlers (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew (Leader and 1 Grunt) (1pts)Venators Slingers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
I don't have the Taskmaster in there to help out the gatormen but I believe they'll be alright. The number of beasts gives me a low number of activations and makes it easier. I will have Tiberion finished tonight most likely.
Arcuarii can harpoon you, drag you in, then weapon master attack you (and open you up for the rest of the army!) |
Cetrati can shield wall for insane ARM. |
No wonder your wife is annoyed with you; you spend all day painting!
ReplyDeleteImpressive. You should have joined the journeyman league. All those hobby points would have scored you something.
ReplyDeleteBeen a 40k, and to a lesser extent Fantasy Battle player for years.
ReplyDeleteJust getting into Warmahordes, and I have also gone for Skorne. For me it was a combination of the models and the fluff.
Loving your work and just wishing I could pair stuff a bit faster and get stuff churned out like you seem to be doing!
*paint not pair.
