Salamanders Librarians, Times Two

I painted some librarian models I've had sitting around for ages. I'm not playing much 40k lately but these models are too cool to have sitting around unpainted. Pics after the jump.

As I said, these models are super cool. They were a good way to dip my toes back into the water in terms of painting 40k stuff. The terminator librarian is Finecast. The first model came out pretty poorly, but the replacement was ok. The terminator is based on the 40mm heroic slate wasteland base from Dragonforge. Dragonforge makes super awesome products, check 'em out!

Unfortunately in 6th ed being equipped with force staves is not so hot (I think) but I highly doubt anyone would care if I counts-as swords for them.

I wish I could get better pictures, but I pushed myself to do more advanced shading and highlighting besides just edge highlights (though I did those too). I tried to paint similar features as identical as I could. I like the idea of these models representing the same librarian equipped for different battles, or at different stages of his career (codicier vs. epistolary for example).

That's it for now, thanks for checking them out.

  2. Beautiful, as always. When do you want to test their psychic mettle against some Runes of Warding?

  4. Both look great! I personally like the Force Staff look. Gives that whole complete space wizard look.

  5. They're alright I guess.

I really like the idea of the dude going through his career as a librarian. I have thought about doing that when I paint my terminator librarian.
